Operating as Lifting Shackles, Petersen Stainless Rigging Limited is a leading manufacturer and supplier to lifting and offshore industries. Headquartered in the North East of England, Petersen specialises in the manufacture of CE marked stainless steel components.

The Petersen lifting range includes lifting shackles, turnbuckles, cable and wire ropes, polyester lifting slings and more, all made exclusively from European material.

  • – All manufacturing takes place at the Petersen Stainless Rigging factory in Blaydon, England, where the Quality Management System is certified by Lloyd’s Register to ISO9001:2015.
  • – Petersen has been manufacturing shackles for over 100 years. We assure full traceability and certification of all products from the steel mill to site as standard.

EVERY ITEM TESTED AND CERTIFIED

  1. 1. Each and every lifting shackle is individually tested before it comes to you. The test involves loading the lifting shackle to its proof load, which is always twice the working load limit (safe working load). Our minimum breaking loads are 6 times the WLL, but in testing we regularly see shackles getting to 8 or 10 times the WLL before failure.
  2. 2. The shackle then has a test batch reference number, material grade and CE mark engraved. CE marking confirms that the shackle was manufactured in accordance with the EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
  3. 3. Once testing is complete, a test certificate is produced detailing the relevant product and test information, including the identification number, date of manufacture, product code and description, date of test, applied load and traceability number.
  4. 4. We can also provide you with material certificates and a declaration of conformity on request – even after the goods have shipped!
  5. 5. All of our CE marked products are also supplied with safe usage instructions, detailing how to use, store and inspect the item.
