Operating as Lifting Shackles, Petersen Stainless Rigging Limited is a leading manufacturer and supplier to lifting and offshore industries. Headquartered in the North East of England, Petersen specialises in the manufacture of CE marked stainless steel components.
The Petersen lifting range includes; lifting shackles, turnbuckles, cable and wire ropes, polyester lifting slings and more, all made exclusively from European material.

SHACKLE TESTING PROCEDURE
- Shackles undergo testing before leaving the manufacturing facility. This firstly involves proof load testing the shackle to twice the working load limit (safe working load).
- The shackle then has a test batch reference number, material grade and CE mark engraved. CE marks confirm the shackle was manufactured in accordance with the EU Machine Directive 2006/42/EC.
- Lastly, a certificate containing relevant test and product information is produced. The customer will also receive an instruction leaflet and declaration of conformity, as the shackle is CE marked. The instruction leaflet will detail how to use, store and inspect the shackle.
